It was indeed a pleasure to welcome Pastor Emmanuel Akinlaja to KingsWord Dallas, and to listen to his powerful sermon. Below are three key points in the sermon that deeply resonated.

  • The importance of hope –  If you don’t have hope, there is nothing for faith to cling on to. Once your hope comes alive it means faith has something to give substance to. Evidence of the presence of hope means you can visualize what it looks like when your challenges are over and you have overcome. Do you know what your life will look like when your storm has passed? Can you picture the future? According to Habakkuk 2.2: “Write the vision, and make it plain upon the table, that he may run that readeth it.”
  • Be persistent in your faith work – Behind your hope you must always have faith. Don’t wait until a desperate situation occurs to develop your faith. God doesn’t change, what changes is our disposition to the faith we have, and that is what get us results. Maintain a consistency in the demonstration of your faith. Twelve months is a lot time to work towards the divine elevation we are expecting this year. Take things bit by bit, a month or two at a time to walk diligently with God on different aspects of your life. Before you know it, your life will look nothing like it did previously.
  • God is not holding anything back from you: If there is something out of place, it is you and not Him. We have the ability to receive and overcome anything. Do not let someone with two eyes stop you from receiving your own sight. Romans 8.32 confirms the fact that God isn’t holding anything back from us: “He who did not spare His own Son, but gave Him up for us all—how will He not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?”
